Maryland is #1 in the ACC in the Grand Champion category
with a recycling rate of 38.41%
Ahead of #2 Clemson's 32.34% and #3 NC State's 31.59%

Maryland is #1 in the state of Maryland in the Gorilla Prize category recycling 55,160 pounds of recyclables.
Ahead of #2 Loyola's 21,800 and #3 Towson's 5,570

In the ACC:

GRAND CHAMPION Category:  the greatest achievement in both waste reduction and recycling    
Maryland #1 33.41%
Clemson #2 32.24%
NC State #3 31.59%
     
PER CAPITA RECYCLING Category: collecting the most recyclables per person     
Maryland #5 1.32 pounds
     
WASTE MINIMIZATION Category: generating the least amount of municipal solid waste (including both recyclables and trash) per person, emphasizing reuse and reduction over recycling    
Maryland #1 3.96 pounds per person
     
GORILLA PRIZE Category:  recycling the highest gross tonnage of materials regardless of campus population    
Maryland #4 55,160
     
FOOD SERVICE ORGANICS Category:  recycling the largest amount of food service organics per person
