Recycle all of your paper, cardboard, glass, plastic, and metal!

Recycle all paper and cardboard--- “If it tears, recycle it.”

-Pizza boxes with no food in them (grease/oil on the cardboard is okay but toss the leftover pizza slices).

-Tissues, napkins, paper towels, etc. that have been used are not acceptable for recycling.

Recycle glass, plastic, and metal--- empty food containers (and rinse, if possible)

    - All glass bottles and jars should be recycled.

    - Recycle ALL of your plastics:

            plastic bottles,
            plastic food trays,
            yogurt containers,
all types of hard plastics (milk crates, etc.), trash cans, bins, and lids

    -Recycle all metal cans

            aluminum beverage cans
food cans (from soup, vegetables, etc.)

Look for recycling containers everywhere on campus

For more information, see http://www.studentaffairs.umd.edu/environment/recycle.html

Important Note:  On campus, we recycle ALL paper and cardboard and ALL glass, plastic, and metal REGARDLESS of 1.)  the signage on the recycling container or 2.)  the shape of the opening on the container.

Put all paper products in the paper recycling container.
Put all glass, plastic and metal in the recycling container for "bottles and cans" or glass or plastic or metal.

Even if there is a round hole in the top of a recycling container, you should still put your bulky plastic in (you may have to lift the container lid to put in your plastic recyclables).
